“We are seeing more and more counter offers as businesses are fully aware of the challenges recruitment is presenting in this market. If you are looking for the right reasons, no amount of counter offer can make you stay. If there is a possibility of accepting a counter offer of more money, have a conversation with your line manager and ask for a payrise/development plan as this may save you a lot of trouble in finding a new role. Not surprising, 80% of candidates who accept a counter offer end up leaving the organisation within 6 months. 50% of candidates who resign will receive a counter offer so definitely worth bearing the above in mind and if you know what is truly motivating you – your search for a new role will then be genuine”
