Senior HR Advisor, Warrington (Hybrid), 12-month FTC, £33,000 – £35,000 plus excellent benefits.

Our client is a leading and growing organisation with an enviable reputation. To support a period of maternity, they are now looking for an experienced Senior HR Advisor to join their existing HR team for a 12-month Fixed Term Contract.

Supporting the People Team and wider HR function as Senior HR Advisor you will be responsible for providing high quality and accurate end to end case management support on all aspects of people policy. Dealing with a high volume of cases, you will be tasked with understanding issues and being able to guide and coach to ensure a positive resolution.

Some key duties include:

  • Provide an efficient, effective and customer focussed HR service which supports all aspects of the employee relationship and engagement with the organisation.
  • Provide advice, guidance, and coaching to managers on disciplinary, grievance and capability issues ranging to serious and complex ER cases which may include ET disputes and ACAS early reconciliations, with the support of a HR BP where required.
  • Manage a HR caseload in accordance with SLA’s and consideration for Operational demands, oversee the work of the HR Advisor to ensure that HR cases meet timeframes for completion.
  • Advise and support managers on the management of absence ensuring that triggers are actioned, and long-term sickness is closely monitored whilst liaising with occupational health as required. This includes providing absence reports and maintaining an overview of long-term sickness cases.
  • Play a lead part in the professional development the HR advisor through on the job coaching and mentoring
  • Manage and improve HR data including the HR database and provide of range of HR reports as required.
  • Providing HR support in formal processes e.g., disciplinary, grievance, appeals, absence review including notetaking of meetings
  • Provide advice and support during any consultation or redundancy procedures and attend consultation meetings as the HR contact where appropriate.
  • Support the HRBP with complex work streams e.g., change management, TUPE, redundancy
  • Support the Head of HR on a range of people-based projects and initiatives as required.
  • Coaching and supporting the HR Advisor to help them develop their confidence in case work and experience
  • Support the HR BPs and recruitment team on the lifecycle of recruitment including reviewing and updating job descriptions, supporting recruitment campaigns, updating employment contracts and liaising with agencies
  • Ensure legal and regulatory compliance in all employee documentation
  • Maintain and provide KPI and management information as required
  • Proactively identify, develop, and implement improvements to systems and procedures to enhance service efficiency
  • Undertake audits through on-site HR health checks ensuring quality and compliance in our people policies as required.
  • Contribute to the development of policies and processes and proactively supports the delivery of HR policy and process across the organisation including leading on areas of policy e.g., EDI etc.
  • Champion communication and employee engagement across the organisation
  • Identify on going risks and manage data in line with GDPR requirements
  • Escalate serious risks and breaches of organisational policy inc. H&S, employment, financial, safeguarding, and reputational risks to line manager or EMT members accordingly.

As Senior HR Advisor you will need to be a great team player with the ability to coach and provide robust advice. You will deliver effective responses with sound judgement on a variety of ER issues. Essentially you must be able to manage a varied workload and build strong relationships with your stakeholders providing them with risk-based options and driving accountability and capability to make the decisions. Previous experience within a case management/ER specialist role is essential. Ideally you will be level 5 CIPD qualified as a minimum with 3 years’ experience in an advisory role within a complex and customer focussed environment. Previous line management experience is essential.
