I am currently recruiting for my client who are based at Wrexham Industrial Estate. Due to growth, there is the need to add another payroller to the finance team. This role would suit a junior payroller looking to gain more experience in a large and growing organisation or a more experienced payroll candidate looking for a stable and friendly working environment.


Job Purpose

Process the organisation’s payroll in a timely and accurate manner. Create and maintain employees’ payroll records. Calculate wages and applicable deductions based on employee attendance and timesheet records. Enter payroll information into a central system for processing. Issues employees’ checks and earnings summaries. Complete payroll reports.


Main Duties

  • Process full payroll every pay period
  • Maintain payroll processing system and records by gathering, calculating, and inputting data
  • Compute employee take-home pay based on time records, benefits, and taxes
  • Answer staff questions about wages, deductions, attendance, and time records
  • Receive and coordinates requests for leave and other absences
  • Handle changes in exemptions, job status, and job titles
  • Adhere to payroll policies and procedures and complies with relevant law
  • Identify, investigate and resolve discrepancies in timesheet and payroll records
  • Honour confidentiality of employees’ pay records at all times
  • Complete payroll reports for record-keeping purposes or managerial review
  • Determine tax obligations by calculating national and council taxes as well as National Insurance contributions
  • Perform the distribution of wages through issuance of paper checks or direct transfers to employees’ bank accounts
