Interim Cost Accountant

I am recruiting for an experienced Payroll Officer to complete a 3-6 month project with a successful business based near Whitchurch.  Reporting to the HR Manager you will be responsible for all aspects of payroll processing for circa 300 employees.  Duties include;


Setting up new records, new starters and leavers returns

  • Assessing and processing weekly and monthly time sheets
  • Ensuring SMP, SPP, SSP, Salary Sacrifice, Court Orders, Student Loans and Pensions are processed in line with legislation
  • Completing Auto-Enrolment pension assessments, reconciliations and making payments to the pension provider
  • Preparing BACs reports
  • Ensuring FPS and EPS submissions are processed in line with the deadlines
  • Reconciling PAYE and NI, and making payments to HMRC
  • Processing month end reconciliations and year end procedure
  • Keeping ‘Benefit in Kind’ information up-to-date for P11d’s
  • Liaising with external agencies such as HMRC, pension providers etc.,
  • Resolving HMRC queries around RTI submission and pay for all employees
  • Keeping up-to-date with proposed legislation and regulations, communicating potential payroll implication to the HR Manager & Financial Controller
  • Continually reviewing processes and working practices to ensure the company maintains an up to date, effective payroll service whilst protecting payroll integrity and security
  • Ensuring full adherence to SOX processes


The ideal candidate will have worked in a similar role previously and must be readily available to start work.  You will be required to work 28 hours per week and must be based on site.
