Our client is a successful, highly commercial manufacturing company with ambitious growth plans. Following a number of recent acquisitions they are looking to recruit an Indirect Purchasing Manager to join the team on a permanent basis.  The successful candidate will have experience of overseeing all aspects of Indirect Spend within a manufacturing environment.  This is an exciting opportunity to join a market leading commercial business with a clearly defined growth strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of key projects, sourcing, negotiations, and contracting through to completion
• Liaise with the Senior Purchasing Manager to create and deliver improved procurement strategies for the indirect divisions
• Provide cover for the Senior Purchasing manager and direct purchasing team as and when necessary
• Sourcing new potential suppliers, negotiating quality, service, pricing, and payment terms
• Develop & implement relevant SLA’s/KPI’s to drive supplier continuous improvement
• Monitor & report supplier performance
• Renegotiate contracts targeting continuous improvement and cost reduction
• Build & maintain relationships with key strategic suppliers

Experience

• CIPS qualified or equivalent business qualification
• 5 years previous procurement experience
• Strong procurement and contract management knowledge & experience
• You will have a proven track record in managing a multi-million pound spend
• Be able to demonstrate strong Project Management experience/skills
• Possess a hands-on can-do attitude, excellent communication skills and an ability to organise, plan and prioritise core tasks.
• Excellent negotiation skills
• A driven and motivated individual with strong analytical mindset and a desire to progress

This role is office based with the option to work from home on an ad hoc basis.
