Group Reporting Manager

Heyland Finance is pleased to be working with this high growth business based just outside of Chester.  Due to a recent acquisition the role of Group Reporting Manager has been created to support the CFO in a number of key areas initially and will assume responsibility for certain other areas in the short to medium term.  This will include responsibility for driving improvements in key areas, completing the Group reporting, monthly reporting (working with other members of the finance and operational teams to understand the variances in detail), involvement in controlling balance sheet areas and statutory reporting.  In addition, this role will involve working closely with the Parent company Group finance team to complete other reporting matters, preparing presentations for Group Board, explaining performance, variances, etc.

Key duties & responsibilities include:

  • Drive improvement in key areas including clarity and presentation of monthly reporting
  • Responsibility for preparation of the monthly financial accounts, to a tight deadline, including Group consolidation and reporting
  • To assist the CFO in other Group matters as they arise – provision of financial support to key projects (e.g. new Group reporting requests/initiatives, acquisitions, etc.)
  • To work with Parent Company Group colleagues to assist in presentation and understanding of financial performance
  • To take responsibility for the statutory reporting for the Group
  • To have key involvement in the preparation of the yearly budget plan for the Group businesses
  • To assist the CFO in management of external and internal auditors
  • Ad-hoc projects as required

Key skills & competencies required:

  • Fully qualified accountant with several years post qualification experience in industry, ideally with experience of working in a group role
  • Must have a higher-level knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Knowledge of reporting tools such as Power BI, Board, etc, would also be beneficial
  • Self-motivated and confident
  • Able to communicate effectively with all levels of management
