My exclusive client is currently looking to appoint a Head of Finance, reporting directly to the Managing Director to lead the company’s financial accounting, reporting and control activities across the company and to ensure they are carried out efficiently, effectively and in line with best practice

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the company’s Finance and Accounting strategy, to optimise the company’s overall financial performance. Provide the company board with financial analysis, guidance, and advice
  • Actively seek and project a senior leadership presence across all areas of the business; challenging decision making and assumptions as appropriate, providing financial guidance on all activities, plans, targets, and business strategy
  • Manage and lead all financial operations of the company including reporting, forecasting, invoicing and cash management, accounts payable/receivable and payroll. Oversee all tax and regulatory compliance issues; prepare and submit information to statutory authorities including HMRC
  • Manage the cash management policies and ensuring the optimal cash position for the business at any given time
  • Establish and maintain a high level of credibility and manage strong working relationships with external parties including shareholders, banks, auditors, and customers
  • Manage and Develop systems and procedures to ensure the efficient and effective management of the company’s finances. Ensure all processes and systems meet or exceed the standards of the internal and external auditors
  • Preparation of annual statutory Accounts. Liaise with external advisors on the preparation of statutory financial information
  • Lead and participate in the monthly accounting close ensuring timeliness, accuracy, completeness, and compliance with corporate policy. Recommend changes that will improve the company’s financial performance and financial controls
  • Management and development of the finance team
  • Develop and own the annual budgeting process and its compliance monitoring
  • Manage the payroll process to ensure an accurate payroll process is always giving best value for money

Candidates will ideally be fully Qualified, and Degree educated.

Experience in preparing reports and analysis on the performance of the business and exposure to the implementation of processing and control systems in a time pressured environment would be highly advantageous as would experience in the application of internal control procedures and frameworks.
