Commercial Management Accountant

Heyland Finance are delighted to be exclusivity partnering one of our newest clients, as they look to add an ambitious Commercial Management Accountant to join their busy accounts function.  Working for an established and highly successful manufacturing subsidiary of a larger group, the Commercial Management Accountant will continue their career within a friendly and collaborative organisation that prides themselves on their business culture.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the successful candidate will be responsible for the preparation of monthly management accounts and fulfilling group reporting requirements.

Main responsibilities:

  • Weekly flash reporting, sales analysis and master data administration
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Provide product costings for all new business opportunities, tenders and engineering projects.
  • Provide customer profitability analysis and sku profitability analysis
  • Working closely with commercial teams drive price management programme
  • Support the senior management team in driving business performance by providing financial information and reports.
  • Liaise with colleagues across all departments to ensure accurate and insightful analysis is provided.
  • Assist with the preparation of year-end financial accounts, tax and audit packs.

Candidate requirements;

  • CIMA/ACA/ACCA qualified accountant.
  • Prior financial and management accounting experience in a manufacturing industry and proven track record in month end processes.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills with extensive experience of interpreting financial data.
  • Strong influencing skills with the ability to challenge and influence commercial decision making.
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills with the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Strong Excel skills with the ability to manipulate and interpret large amounts of financial data.
  • Be a proactive self-starter who is capable of using and applying their initiative to new situations.
  • Be keen to learn and understand new tasks and have a desire to contribute to continual improvements to processes and working methods.

The successful candidate will have a strong background working as a Management Accountant, preferably within a manufacturing environment, and be able to demonstrate strong analytical and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and influence at all levels.
