Heyland Recruitment are working alongside this Warrington based logistics and engineering business as they look to recruit an experienced and well-rounded Assistant Management Accountant to join their growing finance team. This is a key role within the finance team where you’ll play a vital role assisting with the production of accurate and timely management information in line with business requirements, whilst ensuring regularity obligations are met.

Key Responsibilities:
• Assist with month end close processes including journal entries, reconciling accounts, and producing financial reports, in line with internal reporting deadlines.
• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Maintain the fixed asset register and HP schedule, accounting for additions & disposals.
• Calculate supplier rebate schemes.
• Complete board pack slides in Excel & PowerPoint.
• Investigate and implement additional reporting requirements to support the business’s decision making.
• Calculate & submit VAT & CIS returns in line with HMRC deadlines.
• Cash management including cash drawdowns, payment processing and banking reconciliations.
• Credit card statement reconciliation & posting.
• Raising customer credit notes.
• Complete ONS surveys.
• Annual CITB levy calculation and submission.
• Provide back-up support for Sales and Purchase Ledger management (inc. supplier payment runs).
• Assist with the year end audit, compiling necessary information.
• Assist within the finance department as and when required.

Key Skills / Experience Required:
• Minimum AAT qualified.
• 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role.
• Have a proven track record in a similar role.
• Highly motivated and ambitious.
• Strong analytical and numerical abilities.
• Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent communication skills – written & verbal.
• Experience of Sage 200 would be advantageous but not necessary.
