My Runcorn based client, a manufacturing subsidiary of large multinational organisation is looking for an experienced Tax / VAT professional to provide support with the VAT filings for the multiple entities that are operating under the group. The VAT reporting Accountant will ensure timely and accurate VAT reporting to both internal and external stakeholders.

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Management of the monthly VAT reporting processes, providing accurate and timely data to both the internal and external tax teams.
  • Reconciliation of the two key data files received from Group on a monthly basis (revenue file vs VAT file).
  • Liaison with group tax team on transaction-related queries and requirements for copies of documentation.
  • Responsible for the distribution of data to local tax advisers for monthly and quarterly VAT return submissions
  • Respond to country-specific tax advisers on questions raised in relation to monthly filing submissions.
  • Deal with queries and questionnaires raised by local tax authorities for each filing country.
  • Provide data for EC Sales filings, as required.
  • Monitoring of compliance with filing deadlines for all entities (including factories).
  • Participate in weekly ‘tax status’ calls with ADC tax team.
  • Other responsibilities, and ad hoc projects, as required.

 

 

Minimum Requirements / Qualifications

  • Qualified accountant (eg, CPA, CIMA, ACCA).
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field or equivalent experience. • 5 years of experience in a VAT-related business environment, within a large professionally-managed global operating company.
  • Tax background with strong experience of VAT and associated filings across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Strong analytical and computer skills with experience utilizing analytical tools and databases.
  • Detailed working knowledge of current VAT and related reporting regulations.
  • Results oriented, metrics driven individual with a root cause, permanent fix, continuous improvement approach.
  • Professional with excellent communication skills and an ability to forge strong working relationships with direct reports, peers and senior management.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • ERP systems experience (such as use of SAP) would be a plus.
