Heyland Recruitment are working exclusively alongside this market leading and niche manufacturing organisation based in Warrington as they look to recruit a Management Accountant with a specific focus on VAT for their head office finance team. This is a part time role required to cover 2.5/3 days per week.

The Management Accountant will be responsible for providing key support with VAT, EC Sales and Intrastat reporting within the ERP system and acting as a subject matter expert for other members of the finance team and other key stakeholders within the wider business.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial reporting to external bodies where relevant including to tax authorities, statutory filings, financial regulators (VAT and Intrastat Returns) within legal deadlines
• Ensure finance systems allow efficient reporting under IFRS.
• Management of the company’s obligations under VAT and PAYE/NI rules.
• Development and maintenance of systems of internal control to safeguard the company’s assets.
• Management of the local financial accounts and respective documentation in line with accounting policies,
• Specific project management responsibilities including the following:
o VAT calculations and submissions.
o EC Sales and Intrastat calculations
o Review of sales documents and any potential errors in VAT reporting
o Submission of Corporation Tax to our external provider
o Review of PAYE submissions
o Analysis of the travel policy under the guidance of HMRC guidelines.
• Balance Sheet reconciliation incl Input and Output VAT
• Any other duties as required in line of the needs of the business e.g. forecasting, budgeting

Required Skills / Experience

• AAT or equivalent /Part qualified ACCA / CIMA or equivalent (QBE)
• Knowledge of Excel and SAP preferable
• Good written and verbal skills
• Must be able to work with sensitive business information in a confidential manner
• Ability to portray professional image
• Willingness to perform and result orientation.
