My Wrexham based client is currently seeking a Financial Controller for their diverse and high growth organisation.  Working closely with a highly driven CEO and the senior management team with responsibility for supporting the growth agenda whilst retaining tight financial controls and compliance. This role would be highly suited to a Financial Controller with experience of working in rapid growth businesses, comfortable with change and adept at working in a high energy environment.

 

The postholder will be responsible for the provision of sound and reliable financial information and guidance and participating in decisions which will assure the long-term financial health of the company. Leading and developing the finance team and ensuring full compliance with internal and external controls.

 

Role responsibilities;

  • Closely monitor the weekly turnover, ensuring cashflow forecasts are updated and highlighting any corrective actions to the management team when required
  • Regular liaison with funding providers
  • Management of finance department employees
  • Oversee and assure the accuracy of day-to-day financial operations within the company, such as payroll, invoicing, supplier management and other transactions
  • Ensure deadline adherence for all compliance related matters e.g. VAT
  • Act as a business partner, working closely with the management team to support their department objectives
  • Seek out creative methods for minimising financial risk to the company
  • Provide insightful information to senior executives to aid in long-term and short-term decision making
  • Coordinate and manage the budget setting process, including presentation back to the management team
  • Review financial data, prepare and present monthly and annual reports
  • Establish and maintain financial policies and procedures for the company
  • Understand and ensure full compliance to financial regulations and legislation.
  • Finance lead on high value projects

 

Candidate profile;

  • CIMA/ACA/ACCA qualified ideally
  • Experience in a senior finance role in a rapidly expanding business
  • Proven leadership and management experience
  • High level of influencing and stakeholder management skills
  • Analytical, big picture thinker with strong attention to detail
  • Creative and critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • High level IT skills
  • Agile multi-tasker, highly responsive to change
