French Region Credit Controller

I am currently recruiting for my client based in Deeside for a French speaking Credit Controller. The successful candidate will take full control of the French ledger of this European distribution company, making the role their own. Relationship building with customers will be a key part of the role so you must be personable and be able to build rapport well over the phone. Any other European languages would certainly be advantageous.


Ideally the successful applicant will have previous credit control experience, however this is not essential, as full training can be provided. The successful candidate will have the right attitude, good organisational skills and of course be fluent in both French & English! The role would suit someone with a good customer service background looking to develop their career.


Main purpose/objective of post:


To manage and maintain a sales ledger working to the credit management processes and policies.  Building strong relationships both internally and externally to ensure great customer service to our French customer database


Key duties:

  • To control specific sections of accounts within the sales ledger as part of a team (800+ accounts)
  • To build relationships with customers and ensure the highest level of service is delivered and maintained
  • To facilitate a high level of cashflow and minimize levels of overdue debt in line with set targets
  • To work with internal departments in resolving customer discrepancies in a timely manner
  • To manage cash allocation appropriately
  • Maintains accurate and up to date customer details
  • In addition to these functions, the employee is required to carry out other duties as may be reasonably required to meet the needs of the business


Core Competencies:

  • Fluent in French / English  - having other language skills would be advantageous
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to work as part of a team and individually
  • Computer literacy in application of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and the ability to pick up bespoke systems
  • Self motivated individual with ability to work under pressure
  • Customer focused/drive to deliver improved customer satisfaction
  • Good organisational skills
