Heyland recruitment are working exclusively with a fantastic company has arisen to join a growing company based in Runcorn. Our client is looking for an Accounts Assistant to cover maternity leave, the successful candidate should be on minimal to no notice period.

 

Reporting directly into the Group Finance Manager, the successful candidate will manage the purchase ledger for the group but also assist with credit control and sales ledger duties.

 

Key Responsibilities and duties

  • Process purchase invoices onto the ledger adhering to the company’s approval process
  • Process supplier statements and reconcile supplier statements to the ledger
  • Process supplier payments and ensuring payments are made in a timely manner
  • Enter supplier payments onto the ledger
  • Administering and reconciling the company fuel cards
  • Posting journals as required
  • Liaising with the accounts department, suppliers and wider business
  • Credit control via phone and email ensuring that no aged debt materialises
  • Producing sales invoices and forwarding them to clients
  • Processing sales invoices and posting cash to the ledger
  • Credit checking potential clients as required.

 

Key Attributes and Skills

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience of the purchase ledger and/or sales ledger
  • Experience in using Sage is desirable
  • Proficient use of MS Office, primarily Excel
  • Ability to work using own initiative with good organisational skills
  • Good problem solver with an attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate to staff at all levels
